Program Coordinator: Dr. Jake Thiessen
This is one of the newest research theme areas to be included in the structure of the RIA. Linked to the new School of Pharmacy at the University of Waterloo, research in this theme area will focus on ways to reduce the number of medications that older adults are prescribed by identifying more efficient ways to use and manage these drugs. Studies will not only focus on the overall use of medications with seniors, but will also focus on specific disease processes and how they are treated and managed.
